Biography contributed by Daryl Jones

Son of Thomas and Hilda McLean; husband of Aenid McLean, of Toowoomba, Queensland.

DEARLY LOVED HUSBAND OF AENID & FATHER OF DEIRDRE & DUNCAN

PTE. G. Y. McLEAN
Word was received in Casino yesterday that Pte. G. Y. McLean had been killed in action in New Guinea on December 28. Up till the time of his enlistment in April last Pte. McLean had occupied the position of accountant at the Casino branch of the Union Bank of Aust. Ltd. for a period of approximately five years. He was Secretary of the Casino Golf Club, and was associated with many patriotic movements.
In banking circles he was well known and respected for his loyalty and devotion to duty, and it was generally anticipated he would early receive well-merited promotion in the profession.
He is survived by a widow and a baby daughter, Diedre, both of whom are residing with Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Rosbrook, Bunvah Park, Toowoomba.

McLEAN.—At Rushton Private Hospital, on May 25th, to Aenid & the late Private Gerald Young McLean, A.I.F. (formerly Union Bank of Australia)—a Son (Gerald Duncan).
