Corporal Colin Edward McLennan (Service No:WX506) enlisted in the AIF on 7 November 1939 as a Private attached to 2nd/11th Infantry Battalion and was promoted to Corporal on 10 January 1940. Corporal McLennan served in Egypt and Greece (April 1940 - March 1942) and embarked with 2nd/11th Infantry Battalion from Townsville for Aitape on 5 November 1944. Corporal McLennan was KiA in New Guinea on 12 May 1945.

Born in 1912 in Perth WA, Colin was the second of five children of John McLennan (b1866 in Mondrook, NSW) and Florence Edna Meyer (b1886 in Eudunda, South Australia), John (a Clerk) and Florence married in 1907 and settled in Fremantle WA where they raised their family and John worked as a Clerk for D & J Fowler Ltd until his death in 1919.

Colin was a Clerk in Perth WA when he enlisted in the Army in 1939.
