AC Eric Oliver McMichael 33542 - a member of the 450SQN ground crew - received an accidental gun-shot wound due to the discharge of a captured German sub-machine gun at Sidi Heneish in the Middle East
The incident is referred to in "Memoirs of 450 (RAAF) SQN" by Leonard Barton & “RAAF Ground Staff of the Desert Air Force Squadrons” by E.S. Johnston
