Neville David McWILLIAM was born in Marrickville, Sydney, NSW on 24th May, 1915

His parents were Neville Gilbert McWILLIAM & Agnes WATT who married in St Marks Church in Darling Point, Sydney in 1914

He was wounded on the bridge of the HMAS Perth on 28th February, 1942 & escaped the sinking and reached a life raft, but succumbed to his injuries in the early hours of the morning after HMAS Perth was sunk on 1st March, 1942 in the Sunda Strait, Netherlands, East Indies - no known grave - 

Neville was a RAN Aircraft Observer in the Royal Australian Naval Reserve and died in the arms of his Pilot (Jock McDONOUGH (RAAF) - Their TAG Ken WALLACE (RAN) was also present & tried to help but the injuries were mortal

His sister Joan Agnes McWILLIAM served as a Nursing Sister in the RAAF during WW2 (SN 501331) and was discharged on 24th January, 1944. She was also known as Joan Agnes PAYNE
