Flying Officer Neelands 419070 and Warrant Officer Walkington 437031 of 194 Squadron RAF were killed when Dakota KK175 hit the slope of a mountain located 4 miles south-east of Kyaukpyu on Ramree Island off the coast of Burma while flying in marginal weather conditions

Also killed were Wing Commander Robert Cree Crawford 34146 DFC RAF and Flight Lieutenant Frank Malcolm Forrester 120767 RAF
