Rexford Frank NEWLING was born in Perth, Western Australia on 28th April, 1913

His parents were William John NEWLING & Lillian Mary WALKER

He married Doris JONES in Northam, Western Australia in 1941

He died of Malaria in Thailand whilst a prisoner of war on 29th September, 1943 and is buried in the Kanchanaburi War Cemetery

His Father William John NEWLING served during WW1 (5536), discharged in 1918 and also served during WW2 (W27457) and was discharged in 1942

Two of his brothers were also prisoners of war and both lost their lives during WW2

1. Oswald Kitchener NEWLING (WX17458) died of Illness on 22nd October, 1943

2. Rolf Walker NEWLING (8865) died on a death march on 13th June 1945

Another brother John Gordon (Jack) NEWLING died after a motor cycle accident on 22nd June 1946 in Western Australia
