He was underage when he enlisted in WW1 and at one time gave his parents as being deceased. True date of birth is 1 january 1900 and was employed as farm hand when enlisting in 1918.
Son of Michael Henry and Rose Mary Nugent of Evelyn Street, West Preston, Victoria.
Returned to Australia on 10 September 1919 aboard HT Suevic.
Medal WW1: British War Medal
Prior to enlisting in WW2 he was a Senior Fireman with the State River Commission.
