Pilot Officer Francis Roy O'Neill 403830 (Observer) died when the Swedish transport ship SS Yngaren was torpedoed in the Atlantic Ocean and sank
The ship was sailing from Halifax, Nova Scotia for the UK with a crew of 34 and 6 passengers from Number 1 Y Depot at RCAF Station Lachine in Canada, having just completing their training
