HIS DUTY NOBLY DONE
The first Charleville soldier to give his life for his country in the present war was Private Leslie George Ogden whose name appeared in a recent casualty list as having died of wounds.
The elder son of Mr. Geo. Ogden and the late Mrs Ogden, he had not quite reached his nineteenth birthday. He was born and educated at Charleville and was an, apprentice on the "Times' staff when he decided to enlist in the fighting forces in June, 1940. He sailed for overseas early this year.
