Malcolm Turner Wellesley PAIN was born in Parramatta, Sydney on 3rd January, 1923

His parents were the Reverend Kenneth Wellesley PAIN & Mabel (Maisie) Oclanis NAISH who married in Woking Parish Church in England on 19th August, 1915

He had previously served in the 30th Infantry Battalion before enlisting in the RAAF

His father Kenneth had served as a Captain in the British Army during WW1

Two of his brothers also served in the Australian Forces in WW2
