Arnold Pearce PARTINGTON was born in Wellington in Western Australia on 2nd April, 1916

His parents were Percival Pearce PARTINGTON & Ethel May BAILE who married in West Perth, WA  in 1907

He initially joined the Army (SN 236184) before signing up with the Royal Australian Navy for a 12 year term on 23rd May, 1938 - he was a Bandsman

He died of acute appendicitis and is buried in the Phoenix Military Cemetery in Mauritis and also honoured in the Plymouth Naval Memorial & the Australian War Memorial

His father Percival Pearce PARTINGTON (SN 274011) enlisted voluntary on 20th May, 1921 in the Army & served in the 11th Regiment and the 42nd Infantry Battalion

His brother Leslie Warburton PARTINGTON (SN 22696) was also a Bandsman in the Navy on HMAS Sydney & he was Killed in Action on 20th November in the Indian Ocean

Another brother Percival Kenneth PARTINGTON (SN 21938) was also a Bandsman on HMAS Huon & discharged on 6th March, 1946 - he was also a Prisoner of War
