Biography contributed by David Barlow

Warrant Officer Percival 402671 in Kittyhawk FS446 of 3SQN was badly hit by flak while attacking enemy transport near Mileto in lower Italy - he was escorted back to the tip of Sicily but he was unable to control the aircraft.

He crash-landed on a Sicilian beach but the aircraft hit a bump and bounced into the sea. Army personnel were seen to help Percival out of the aircraft, but he died of his wounds the same night.
