Pilot Officer Alexander (no service number allocated, pre-war enlistment) and Sergeant Platt (service number 1791) were killed when Wirraway aircraft A20-20 of Number 21 Squadron crashed 2 miles north of Laverton Airbase in Victoria

Pilot Officer Alexander was buried in Randwick General Cemetery
