Flying Officer Sydney Larner Porter (412681) and Warrant Officer Henry James Addison (413936) were killed in the loss of Vultee Vengeance A27-277 of Number 23 Squadron

Son of Carl Harwood Porter and Clara Porter

Husband of Norma Porter of Harbord, NSW

Sydney Porter's father and four uncles served in the First World War - 4544 Private Carl Horwood Porter (father of FO Sydney Porter) with the 3rd Battalion and 3454 Sergeant Robert Daniel Porter MM with the 1st Battalion both survived the war.

4546A Private Sidney George Porter of the 53rd Battalion, 1013 Private William James Porter of the 13th Battalion, and 4547 Private Albert Edward Porter of the 3rd Battalion were all killed in action.
