Son of Dr. George Daniel Praagst and Annie Lyddiard Praagst, of Surrey Hills, Victoria, Australia.

Geoffrey enjoyed Cricket, Tennis and Golf.

Took off 2242 30 May 1942 from Binbrook. Shot down by Flak and crashed 0026 31 May 1942 at Badhoevedorp (Noord Holland) close to Schipol Airport SW of Amsterdam.

PRAAGST,—On May 31, missing after bombing raid over Cologne, now officially presumed dead. Sgt. Geoffrey Clement Praagst. W.A.G, R.A.A.F.. dearly loved only son of Dr. George D. and the late Annie L. Praagst, nephew of Julie (Surrey Hills) and cousin of Dr. Howard F. Praagst, Collins-st. Deeply regretted.

Sgt. G. C. Praagst, R.A.A.F., of Surrey Hills (Vic.) has been reported missing in air operations overseas. He was a nephew of the late Mr W. N. Fischer, a former well known Kyabram business man—or  better known probably as Billy Fischer, one of the best footballers and cricketers of his time in the Goulburn Valley. He paid paid the supreme sacrifice in last great war.
