"MOTHER'S BRAVE BOY"
IT was with deep regret that the news was received in Cobden, this week, of the death of Pte. Keith Quinn, killed in action in New Guinea, on November 17. He was only 19 years old. The son of Mrs Thelma Quinn, Geelong, and the late Mr M G. Quinn, formerly of Cobden, Keith was brought up in Cobden, and was popular with all. He was educated at Cobden State school and was a promising member of Cobden junior football team. He was employed at Cobden butter factory, before going to Geelong, from where he enlisted. Two brothers, Jack and Neil, are in the A.I.F. .Tack being in New Guinea. There are two brothers, Lex and Murray and a sister, Eunice. For them and his mother, heartfelt sympathy is felt in the loss of this fine lad.
SERVICE AT SHIRE HALL
A service in honor of Pte. Quinn will be held by Heytesbury Council at the Shire Hall, Cobden, next Wed at 2pm.
