Roy was born as Herclus Roy Clement Simpson RADECKI in Barcaldine in Queensland on 1st January, 1897 - he also used the surname of RADESKI & RADESKY

His parents were George Clement RADESKI and Elizabeth Constance Frances SIMPSON (Bessie)

He married Stella Maud TOLL in St Marys Church in Kangaroo Point in Queensland on 1st September, 1925 

His 2nd marriage was to Mary BOURKE in Boulder, Western Australia in 1942

Roy had previously served for 4 & 3 quarter years in the Australian Flying Corp in 1915 to 1920 (details unknown)
