"...NX12158 Lieutenant John James Roderick, 2/2nd Battalion, Australian Infantry. Lieutenant Roderick, aged 32, died while defending the island of Crete against the German land and airborne invasion on 1 June 1941. He was the son of William Thomas Roderick and Katherine Roderick and the husband of Melba Roderick, of Weston, NSW.
