Son of Ernest Roy and Dorothy Ernestine Rogers, of Rose Bay, New South Wales, Australia.
Pilot Officer Ormond Roy Rogers, who is believed to have lost his life over Germany on March 23rd last, was at the Brisbane Boys College during 1936-37-38, and will be remembered by his mates of that period for his cheery smile and happy disposition. Joining the R.A.A.F. on turning 18 in 1941, he reached England in 1943 and took part in numerous operational flights. He was very popular in his squadron and received his commission on Jaunuary 1 of this year. Among other activities in London he visited Buckingham Palace on many occasions, where his uncle is a member of the royal staff. At first posted missing, the sad news was later received that he was believed killed. To his parents, Captain and Mrs. E.R. Rogers, and his brother Russell L Rogers (1936-38), also in the R.A.AF. we extend our deepedst sympathy.
