Son of Hariher William RAYNER and Amy MAY Rayner.
Service Record attests to the fact that this serviceman also used the Family Name RYAN ( see note pg 3 of Service Record true name belived to be RYAN; also pg 5 Proceedings of Discharge).
Pg 6 of Service Record notes - Sgt Marks authorises discharge to show name as Charles William RYAN - & to be finalised (5/2/43).
The name on this Memorial has been kept consistent with the AWM Roll of Honour Record & the annotation in the record of the Proceedings of Discharge - at this stage. (Chief Moderator, August 2017)
