Born in England in 1882, Lived at home until WW1 broke out when he left for Australia.
He worked at the Railways and boarded at 79 Guildford Rd, Mount Lawley, close to the Railroad.
THis house was owned by the Kay family , who built the house in 1913.
The owner of the house was Mr William Ernest Kay (1864- 1943) and his wife Ellen (nee Edwards) (1871-1963)
They had 5 children. Nellie (1888-1890), Maud (1889-1924), married Leslie Rodd, Minnie (1891) William Ernest (1895) Harry (1896-1916) and Arthur Edward ( 1908-1999)
Who lived in the house in 1915?
William Ernest Senior, Ellen. William Ernest Jnr, Minnie, Harry, Arthur (the family members) and 2 boarders at the start of WW1 that the family took in from England who also joined the war effort with William Jnr and his brother Harry
At the end of war the daughter of the host family, Minnie married Percy Rutherford Walker the brother of Thompson Walker.
Thompson Walker obtained a job (as a returning soldier who was wounded) as a Clerk. In 1923 he married Elsie Ann and they lived in Ruislip St Leederville, Thompson died at the age of 97 in 1979.
