RAAF Beaufort aircraft A9-509 of Number 1 Squadron was shot down while attacking Penfoi Airstrip, Ambon, Timor - Beaufort A9-541 was lost on the same mission.  Three of the crew of A9-509 were killed outright and one crewman survived parachuting from the aircraft but was badly burned.  Flight Sergeant Terence Wallace 415703 was taken to Koepang Naval Hospital, Timor as a Prisoner of War but he died the next day from his injuries.

Warrant Officer Felix Edward Keon 410242 is commemorated on the Northern Territory Memorial to the Missing located at Adelaide River War Cemetery, NT - Son of Edward Michael and Enid Beatrice Keon of Sandringham, Victoria
