EYE SURGEON KILLED
Major Zelman Schwartz, a former leading Collins st. ophthalmic surgeon, who has been attached to an Australian general hospital as eye specialist, has been reported killed in action abroad. Educated at Wesley College and the University, Major Schwartz graduated M.B., B.S., in 1920. A few years later he did post-graduate work abroad, gaining the F.R.C.S. (Edinburgh), and followed this with experience in India. He was honorary ophthalmic surgeon at Royal Melbourne Hospital. He has left a widow and two daughters.
