Lockheed Hudson A16-68 crashed at Richmond aerodrome in NSW while undergoing a test flight after servicing at RAAF Number 2 Aircraft Depot with all on board killed.

The crew were FLTLT Shore 411199 (Pilot) and FLGOFF Broderick 409022 (WAG)

Eight Killed In RAAF
Crash
SYDNEY, Fri. - Six technicians, the pilot, and the wireless air gunner were killed in a service aircraft crash at Richmond RAAF station on Wednesday. One of those killed was a member of the WAAAF. The plane was returning from an instrument checking flight at 4.35 pm when it crashed on its landing approach. Those killed were: Flt-Lt R. W. Shore, of Bexley (NSW); P Officer J. J. Broderick, of Mildura; Cpl R. H. McIlroy. of Kogarah (NSW); LAC J. M. Gleeson, of Aroubra (NSW); Cpl J. M. Allen. of Burwood (NSW); LAC N. A. Chamberlain, of Mascot (NSW); Aircraft woman N. M. Ralph, of Strathfield (NSW) ; LAC F. F. Smith Laener, of Narrandera (NSW).
