BRISBANE AIRMAN BELIEVED KILLED
Mr. and Mrs. E. Silk, Stephensen Street, Bardon, have been advised that their son, Sergeant Jim Silk, is reported to have lost his life during air operations in the Far East on January 26. Sergeant Silk received his education at St James and was a foundation pupil of the Marist ' College, Brisbane, where he was a successful participant in amateur boxing and cricket. He was a member of Q.L.T.A. and Men's Metropolitan Association. Sergeant Silk entered the R.A.A.F. on January 6, 1941.
