Biography

Second son of Vernon Henry Silvester (b Strathfield NSW) and wife Annie M Philpott (B Newtown NSW) His family ran the "Silvester Brothers Smallgoods" business, started by his Grandfather, William Craggs Silvester, in Sydney c 1889. He was married and had one son, born 2 months after his death. 

"411054 Flight Lieutenant Frank William Silvester, of Turramurra, NSW. Flt Lt Silvester flew operational patrols in Catalina aircraft with 43 Squadron, RAAF. He was the co-pilot of aircraft number A24-64 which disappeared during a mine laying operation over Manila Bay in the Philippines on 14 December 1944, and has no known grave." - SOURCE (www.awm.gov.au)
