Leading Aircraftman Frank Henry Smith 430562 was killed in Harvard 2866 of Number 1 Service Flying Training School based at Camp Borden (operating Harvard & Yale aircraft) - the aircraft crashed near Orangeville, Ontario, Canada while on a solo flight
Accident occurred at 2230 - half an hour later another crash killed LAC Thomas Bruce Hamilton RAAF 437787
