Son of Harry Walter COUZENS and Hannah (Annie) Amelia COUZENS nee BROWN, Doolbi via Childers, Qld.
It is with deep regret that we have to chronicle the death of Mr. William Couzens, only son of Mr. and Mrs. H. Couzens, of Doolbi, Mr. Couzens was on his way from the North to spend holidays with his parents but became ill, he was taken off the boat at Bowen and was admitted to hospital there suffering from malaria, to which he succumbed. The deceased saw service with A.I.F., he was taken prisoner of war and was not liberated until hostilities ceased, A sad feature of his death the deceased's parents were holidaying a in Sydney and unable to be with their son in his last hours.
