17 Jan 1917: Embarked AIF WW1, Sapper, 6635, Tunnelling Companies, Embarked on RMS Omrah from Melbourne on 17th January 1917, disembarking Devonport, England on 27th March 1917. Entrained to Perham Downs Camp.
14 Apr 1917: Embarked AIF WW1, Sapper, 6635, Tunnelling Companies, Proceeded to France from Folkestone on 14th April 1917.
21 Apr 1917: Transferred AIF WW1, Sapper, 1st Anzac Entrenching Battalion
5 May 1917: Transferred AIF WW1, Sapper, 2nd Tunnelling Company (inc. 5th Tunnelling Company)
20 Sep 1917: Wounded AIF WW1, Sapper, 6635, 2nd Tunnelling Company (inc. 5th Tunnelling Company), Wounded in action, gunshot wound to chest and lower jaw. Transferred to 36th Casualty Clearing Station, but succumbed to his wounds on 21st September 1917.

Son of Michael and Mary (nee McGRATH) McKEE of 232, Boundary St., Brisbane, Queensland. Born at Townsville, Queensland.

When aged 23 years Patrick Joseph married Bridget McSTOCKER on 26th September 1904.  Bridget McSTOCKER was born 25th July 1879 in County Antrim, England, daughter of William John and Margaret (nee FITZPATRICK) McSTOCKER , arrived at the Port of Townsville on 16th December 1902, having left from London, England on 23rd October 1902 on board Jumna.  Bridget did not re-marry following the death of her husband and passed away in 1961.

They had three sons:

  • William John McKEE - born 18th January 1905 died 1927
  • Gerard Michael McKEE - born 12th May 1906 died 1st October 1906
  • Patrick McKEE - born 27th September 1908.
