In November 1942 then Leading Aircraftman Frank Stevenson 421094 survived the loss of Oxford aircraft X7111 at Werribee Satellite Aerodrome, Victoria which killed Flying Officer White 400522 of 1SFTS Point Cook

In May 1944 Flight Sergeant Frank Stevenson 421094 was killed while flying Kittyhawk IV FX631 in Italy - his aircraft collided in mid-air with 450SQN Kittyhawk IV FX546 flown by Flying Officer Robert Henry Altoft 425478 who was also killed in this incident.  They were on an operational mission 2 miles SW of San Angelo Landing Ground near Naples, Italy
