Dakota KN468 of 96 Squadron RAF crashed 2 miles east of Dinawa railway station near Patna in India on the 13th of June 1945

The aircraft was on a daytime equipment transport flight when fire broke out and the port engine ceased to function.  

The only survivor was Flying Officer Bruce Douglas Bancroft GM DFC (George Medal / Distinguished Flying Cross) 421635 (Pilot) RAAF (served in the RAAF until February 1946)

Killed were:

Flying Officer Tolliday 410793 RAAF (Wireless Operator) - killed in crash

Flying Officer Allen 411723 RAAF (Navigator) - died of injuries on the 15th of June 1945

Pilot Officer Alfred William Culshaw 55480 RAF (Pilot) - died of injuries on the 14th of June 1945

LAC Alan Hull 901910 RAF (Passenger) - died of injuries on the 14th of June 1945  

LAC Cyril Leonard Bunn 1191654 RAF (Passenger) - died of injuries on the 14th of June 1945

LAC George Hullah 2227821 RAF (Passenger) - killed in crash
