Biography contributed by Daniel Bishop

Son of Richard Stanley TUCKER & Beatrice Annie (nee-JONES) TUCKER.

Avro-Anso aircraft W-2556 took off from No. 6 Service Flying Training School, Mallala, South Australia at 1430 hours on the 14th July 1943 on test flight following a 240 hourly inspection.  The aircraft failed to return to its base and there is no knowledge of its subsequent movements.  An areal search discovered traces of wreckage on the beach near parham, on the east side of St. Vincent's gulf, on the afternoon of the 15th July 1943.

In view of the locality in which wreckage of the aircraft was found and the time which has elapsed since the occurrence, withough further news of the members of the crew, it is not considered possible that aney of themm will be found alive.

The Anson W2556 crashed in or near the vicinity of Parham, SA on 14 July 1943 beteween 1435 and 1930 hours.  All members were on duty at the time of the accident, and are presumed to have been fatally injured.  The court presumed that the aircraft was totally destroyed and aircraft and equipment considered total loss.  No damage was done to civilian property.  Cause of accident or whether any person was to blame is not known.

TUCKER.—On July 14 (killed in aircraft accident), Donald Beresford Tucker (our Donnie), aged 19 years. (Inserted by his sorrowing grandma, F. Beresford Jones.)
