Biography contributed by David Barlow

AC Vanstone drowned while swimming with other airmen at Werribee, Victoria. He set out to cross the wide swimming hole but when half-way across he got into difficulties. After police had dragged the pool without success a diver from Queenscliff was used to recover the body from the river bed.
