Son of William Henry Vidler and Doris May nee Semple of Townsville, Qld.

HIS DUTY FEARLESSLY AND NOBLY DONE EVER REMEMBERED

His father, Major William Vidler of the 21 Heavy Battery R.A.A.M died in 1936 when he was 16. His father also served in WW1.

Employed by Burns Philip and Co.

Member of Townsville Military Rifle Club.

He died from a severe attack of malaria while ill with dysentary and malnutrition. 

Survived by his mother Doris Burns, brother John and sister Joan Pope.

Advice has been received that Bombardier Keith Thomas Vidler, son of the late Capt. W. Vidler and Mrs. Albert Baker, died of illness on February 15, 1944, whilst a prisoner of war in a Japanese  internment camp. Bombardier Vidler who served in the Malayan-Singapore battles, was a past scholar of the Townsville Grammar School. and prior to the war was a member of Burns,  Phillip and Co. a staff.
