Son of Albert Edward Vivash and Grace Elizabeth Vivash nee Henry of 'Linda', Myrtle Street, Hawthorn, Victoria.
On 2 August 1919 Albert married Ethel Annie Barnett in St. Paul's Church, Brixton, London, England. Clergyman Ralph W. Budden officiated. With this union he had a daughter Edna G. Vivash of West Dulwich, London, England.
Commenced return to Australia 20 December 1919 aboard HT Runic disembarking on 6 February 1920.

When enlisting for WW2 he enlisted as only Albert Edward Vivash and lowered his age by about seven years.
On 15 February 1941 Albert remarried to Elizabeth Francis Vivash of Lancaster, Victoria, formerly of Edenhope, Victoria.
