Leading Aircraftman Ernest Ward 146299 of Number 4 Central Reserve Depot was killed in a military truck accident at Alexishafen in New Guinea while on duty

The driver of the truck - LAC Douglas Clayton Boomer 141024 - was injured in the incident, he was discharged from the RAAF in 1947
