Son of Catherine Manson Warner; nephew of Mrs. R. Warner, of Dimboola, Victoria, Australia.
Private Edward Warner was the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Warner of Lochiel and would have celebrated his 29th birthday. He received his education at the Lochiel School and enlisted in June 1940, left for Overseas in December 1941. Taken prisoner at Ambon Island Feburary 4th 1942. He had been a prisoner of war for three and a half years. Passed away 18th March 1944, died from starvation as a pisoner. His parents didn't know he had died until two years later.
Besides his parents the late Pte. Warner is survived by the following brothers and sisters, Eva, Mrs Smith Pimipino, Richard, Norman, Willia, dorrie, Mrs. Fred Frew Yaapeet and Ella, Mrs. Bob Frew.
