Biography contributed by Dianne Black

Thomas Warrick married Edith Clamp in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia, on 23rd June 1903 when he was 33 years old. Malcolm John Warrick was born on 5 April 1912, his father, Thomas, was 42 and his mother, Edith, was 29. He married Joan Augusta Mary Mallyon on 26th August 1942 in Queensland. Malcolm had already enlisted at Rabaul, New Guinea on 17th July 1940, and was promoted to Lieutenant on 10th July 1944.

Lieutenant Malcolm John Warrick died from gunshot wound to the head (self inflicted). The court of inquiry held in Aitape, New Guinea established that he was under considerable mental stress, and his long service in New Guinea under difficult and primitive circumstances, lacking basic amenities and association with fellow Europeans, would have definitely tended to an abnormal mental outlook and contributing factors to self harm.
