Flight Sergeant Desmond Vincent Watson 424243 RAAF (Pilot) was killed in the loss of Liberator KH154 of 31 Squadron SAAF (31SQN SAAF) near Luserna, Italy - six aircraft were lost during an operation carried out by twenty crews to drop supplies to partisans in Italy.
