In Breif:
While flying at training mission on how to avoid Spotlight was deemed that the pilot was relatively inexperienced ("Emergency Pilot") and may have gotten into trouble while flying through cloud. Reports from people shining the lights on the aircraft for training purposes suggest there was an explosion and the plane crashed 2 miles out to sea. A few bodies were recovered however Goeff's never was. It is suggested in this article that one of the other crew men's wife "May" (wife of Fred Veal) returned to Australia to live after Geoff's parents visited her in England.
