29 Oct 1917: Honoured Military Medal, During the operations between 10-14 October 1917 and between Westhoek and Zonnebeke while under heavy shell fire he continued to take food and supplies to the Battalion. When returning he came across a badly wounded soldier who was carrying flares. He volunteered to take the flares to the front. He showed cool courage and bravery during the whole operations London Gazette on 4 February 1918, page 1617, position 65 Commonwealth of Australia Gazette on 27 June 1918, page 1392, position 81
13 Aug 1918: Wounded AIF WW1, Driver, 3722, 49th Infantry Battalion, Wounds to back and neck. Invalided to England on the 24 August 1919
11 Apr 1919: Discharged AIF WW1, Driver, 3722, 49th Infantry Battalion, Discharged at the 1st Military District as medically unfit due to wounding
