EVER REMEMBERED
The Area News, 9 April, 1946
It was with much regret that the many friends of Mr. and Mrs. ABC Wood learned last week that official word had been received that their eldest son, Pte. Donald Anthony Wood, posted missing as from Feburary 1942, was now presumed to be dead. Don was last heard of in Singapore when it fell. Efforts to locate him from returning POW's only confirmed the official message.
Born in Yenda 23 years ago, Don spent the biggest part of his life here, endearing himself to all who knew him. Sympanthy is expressed by all to his parents who have waited such a long to to hear of him.
