Plane was Lancaster IR 5605 left St Eval aerodrome at 0808 on shipping patrol. Evidence showed that there was 5/10 cloud at 2000 to 3000 feet but no communications were received from the plane after take off so it was assumed it had been lost at sea
Also served in the Militia for 9 months Service number 321687
Wife re-married, later known as Phyllis Decker.
