Family: - Henry Edward Wright, "Teddy" was one of 3 children born to  John ‘Jack’ Edward Wright and Elizabeth Margaret Godridge who married in Katanning, Western Australia, Australia in 1920. Henry's younger sister Zoena Jean Wright died aged 11 months, on 21st February 1927 at the Children's Hospital, Holyoake, Western Australia, Australia. This tragic loss to the Wright family was further compounded  by the death of his father Jack Wright on 17th December 1934 in Katanning, Western Australia, Australia he was 35 years old. Teddy was about 14 years old at the time. Two years later his mother Elizabeth Margaret Wright nee Godridge married Ernest Edward Bastiani in Plantagenet District, Western Australia, Australia, 1936. 

Henry Edward Wright enlisted at Claremont, Western Australia on 17th May 1941, after basic training he was transferred to 2nd/4th Machine Gun Battalion as part of the reinforcements. He embarked for oversea's service aboard the 'Aquitania’ and disembarked at Singapore on 15th January 1942. Lance Corporal Henry Edward Wright was declared missing in action/ prisoner of war on 16th February 1942 after the Battle of Singapore. Lance Corporal Wright was transported from Singapore to work on the Thai-Burma Railway.  He died of avitaminosis at Kuii Camp Hospital, Thailand on 5th October 1943 and was interred in grave 192 at the camps cemetery. He was 22 years old.
