"...NX52592 Private John Patrick 'Ginger' Zimmerman, 2/20 Battalion, of Pagewood, NSW. Pte Zimmerman was serving in the Australian Military Forces (AMF) 17 Battalion band when he enlisted in the 2nd AIF on 11 November 1941. His unit arrived in Singapore on 26 January 1942. Pte Zimmerman was killed in action on the first night of the Japanese invasion, 8 February 1942. He was 21 years of age." - SOURCE (www.awm.gov.au)
