Clifton. Railway Returns-Death of Corporal Conley.- The Darling Downs Gazette, 14 Apr 1900, p. 8.

....Much sympathy is expressed by Clifton people with Mr. and Mrs. Conley, whose son Corporal Conley was killed in South Africa whilst in action. Before joining the first contingent he belonged to "I" Coy. Q.M.I. by whose members he was highly respected. He was also a member of the local Presbyterian Church Choir.
