Jerome Theile GORMAN enlisted with the 6th Queensland Imperial Bushmen (Colonial Military Forces)

He was promoted to Orderly-Room Sergeant on 6th June, 1901

Jerome died in Hospital in Greenport of Menginitis on 17th February, 1902

Buried Maitland Cemetery, Capetown, South Africa

Jerome was born as Joseph Timothy GORMAN in Mudgee, New South Wales on 18th June, 1855

His parents were James GORMAN who was born in Chester, Cheshire, England and Mary Jane O'BRIEN who came from Chatham in Kent, England - they married on 23rd August, 1854 in the Oakfield Chapel in Mudgee
