Biography

Lionel Hugh Wardell YOUNG was born on 5th May, 1879 in Queensland

His parents were Charles Stephens YOUNG and Rosetta OPPERMAN

He enlisted with the 4th Queensland Imperical Bushmen

The 4th QIB Contingent left Queensland on 18th May 1900 on the ship Manchester Port and arrived in Beria 14th June , then to Port Elizabeth & Cape Town in South Africa

He was killed in Action Doomlaagte 28th September 1900 - burial place known
