Beechworth Cemetery, Victoria Private Navarre was buried in the Beechworth Public Cemetery at 1.30 pm on the 17th June 1970, following a funeral service at the Roman Catholic Church which was conducted by Fr. Marriot. Private Navarre’s flag draped coffin was taken by gun carriage from the church down Beechworth’s main street to the Cemetery where a full Military graveside funeral was held. He is interred in a “War Grave” - in Roman Catholic Section - Plot 457. He is the only serviceman who died in the Vietnam War and subsequently buried in the Beechworth Public Cemetery. |
