His parents were William Gilbert A'BECKETT and Gertrude WALSTAB

He enlisted in Caulfied for service in WW2- Service No. VX76500

William married Joan OUTHWAITE on 24th August, 1940 in the Melbourne Grammar School Chapel, Victoria

He died on 31st October, 1987 - Service conducted at Fawkner Memorial Park  on 5th November, 1987 (Cremation)
